Beef hor fun with a twist
Oh boy!
My weekend consisted of cooking, decorating and entertaining. Yes, away from gadgets, web and all things computer. As promised, I cooked a few of Singapore’s favorite food for the first time. Okay, so they were slightly modified, mainly because I didn’t have all the ingredients. Which dishes? Beef hor fun (my version was without vegetable and poured over noodles just before served), chicken curry and vegetable stir fry. Man, how I love hor fun!
Chicken Curry
Entertaining and being a hostess at my home may very well be my first passion. I look for every opportunity to have friends over. Often times trying new recipe or saying thank you for help is the perfect excuse . Nothing expresses appreciation and caring than a warm home cooked meal. There can be no comparison, as a friend would say.

Re-discovering a talent or passion you once had is thrilling. My creative side has been showing herself quite unexpectedly lately. When I first moved into my new – not so new now – home two years ago, I was full of inspiration and wanted to delve into decorating the place to my complete satisfaction right away. Immediate events that followed my move pretty much chased away those motivation and enthusiasm. It took two years, but, that inner creativity is finally emerging, much to my delight.
So, my cooking – my own recipes and did not follow any of the linked recipe – and the recipes online may not look similar but they tasted pretty authentic. Love coconut, spicy, and have a craving for Peranakan cuisine? Try the recipe and if we were friends, I’d invite you over!
